Willem Siwpersad is a lawyer at heart. After completing his law studies, civil and criminal law, at leiden University in 1973, he returned to Suriname, where he settled as a lawyer shortly afterwards. In a relatively short time, he succeeded in establishing a thriving legal practice in the Republic Suriname and gaining a reputation as a successful lawyer both in the field of civil and criminal law.

In 1988 he emigrated to the Netherlands. After more than 24 years as an independent lawyer in Dutch legal practice, he remigrated to Suriname in 2013 and re-established himself as a lawyer.

Willem Siwpersad has extensive and thorough knowledge of both Dutch and Surinamese private law. His extensive knowledge of civil law combined with his long-term and broad experience in legal practice enables him to quickly and accurately get to the heart of things.
